After a brief interlude last year, the McLintocks Charity Golf League is back up and running for 2011. This year the League will be donating £1000 to the Multiple Sclerosis Support Centre in Saltney.
The MS Support Centre
The Centre has been providing support to people with a neurological condition and their carers since 1985. Based in Saltney, the self help Centre offers practical help and support to people with MS and other neurological conditions, as well as their carers. Their aim is to ensure that each member, as an “expert patient”, can use their support to identify the assistance he/she needs from day to day to maintain as great a level of fitness as possible, and to share with others their experiences of managing the symptoms of a long term disabling illness.
These funds contributed by McLintocks and their supporting teams will go towards the running costs of the Centre, which currently has 250 members. The charity receives no automatic statutory funding for its services, and around 80 per cent of its funding is provided through fundraising.
The Format for the Golf League
The league will be a team pairs stableford with only the best score counting at each hole. For the final league positions all scores will be included (in the event of a draw count back will be used to separate the teams).
There will be 3 matches taking place in May and June, starting with Thursday 5th May. Maximum handicap is 28 and all competitors will play off full handicaps.
Past Winners
Defending their title for the second league running will be the McLintocks Tax Team, with past winners as follows:
- 2009 – McLintocks Tax
- 2008 – Beresford Adams
- 2007 – Walker Smith Way

A big thank you to all our participating teams, we look forward to the challenge ahead.
