Everton Disability Awards
McLintocks were proud to Sponsor Everton in the Community Disability Awards held on the 15th September at The Isla Gladstone Conservatory.
Everton in the Community, established in 1988, delivers a diverse range of programmes covering a range of social issues prevalent across Merseyside including health, employability, anti-social behaviour, poverty, education and disability.
The disability programme offers ‘competitive’ opportunities for 26 pan disability and specific impairment teams for children and adults, both male and female. In 2008 the project manager Steve Johnson was inducted into the Football ‘Hall of fame’ for his services to amputee football. The 26 teams include the Wheelchair Football team who are impressively in the Championship division of the Wheelchair Football Association National League.
The night saw awards presented to a very proud Team player of the year for each of the 26 Teams, along with taking the opportunity for the teams to be photographed with Everton player Bryan Oviedo and Everton legends Graeme Stuart and Ian Snowdon . Sitting in the audience it was very easy to spot the characters of the group and it was heart-warming to see how much wearing the Everton badge meant to the teams.
McLintocks are proud to support community events such as this and thoroughly enjoyed the night.
