ProWirral teams up with Everton
Business networking club ProWirral has announced that it is teaming up with Everton in the Community’s Ambassadors’ Club for a table football tournament to raise money for the charitable arm of Everton Football Club.
Hamilton Square’s Four Seven Four Eight will play host to this free inaugural event on Thursday 11 June and will see businesses from across Merseyside compete for the title of ProWirral Table Football Champion whilst raising vital funds for Everton in the Community.
Sponsored by leading organisations Hillyer McKeown, McLintocks Chartered Accountants, Risk Services (NW) Ltd, Four Seven Four Eight, Tranmere Rovers Football Club and RBS, ProWirral is a business networking club which hosts quarterly events to encourage key business collaborations, strategic partnerships and PR opportunities on the Wirral, Liverpool and surrounding areas.
Kick-off will get under way at 5.30pm and the event is free to attend with a suggested donation of £10 for each team of two or team of three with a substitute. All money raised will go to support Everton in the Community in furthering its commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable and underprivileged people across Merseyside.
The teams who make it through to the final round of the competition will be given the opportunity to put their skills to the test against a team of well-known local footballing legends with the evening’s ultimate winners receiving an Everton shirt signed by club captain and England international Phil Jagielka and a cash prize.
Established in 1988, Everton in the Community delivers a diverse range of programmes covering a range of social issues prevalent across Merseyside including health, employability, anti-social behaviour, poverty, education and disability. The charity set up the Ambassadors Club to offer local individuals and businesses the opportunity to become community champions of the Blues’ official charity and do business with other leading and like-minded businesses from across the region.
Speaking on behalf of Everton in the Community, Amanda Chatterton, Corporate Partnerships and Events Manager, said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with ProWirral to host this event and raise much needed funds for the charity. It’s a fantastic opportunity for people to network and do business over a game of table football. I would urge people to come along and support the event, it’s for a great cause and you may find yourself taking on an Everton legend.”
Paul McGerty, Director at McLintocks Chartered Accountants, sponsor of ProWirral, said: “Everton in the Community is a fantastic charity and we hope to raise much-needed funds at this event for the vital work they do.”
